Learning the Ropes

I have a friend who is seriously a big time couponer and she knows how to work the sales.  Even though it hasn't been that long I have learned a lot from her.  I can't wait to learn more and save money!

Thank you S!!!!!!  I appreciate your time and patience in teaching me!
So I have other companies business cards in a very small binder that as of yesterday was overflowing.  I knew I have to get a bigger binder.  I looked at Staples and they had an 8 1/2 x 11 binder with plastic inserts for $30.00.  I am like $30 you have got to be kidding me.  I didn't want to spend that much.  I didn't know what to do.  Then it occured to me that I could use a 1" binder that I already have and use baseball card plastic sheets that I already have to make a business card holder.

Awe Re-use, one of my favorite 3 R's!

That put a smile on my face!!

So I have this small book with all my business cards from all the different places or businesses I go to and the pages were falling out of the book because it was getting to big.  I decided to look on line and found one on Staples on-line that I liked for around $30.00 that had A-Z pages with business card holder sheets as well.  I toyed and toyed with the idea of ordering this book that would definitely help me organize my cards and no more pages falling out.

I came across a 1" binder and then thank God the idea of using the extra baseball card pages that I use for couponing to hold the business cards and make the A-Z tabs myself.  So I re-used what I had and saved $30.00 plus shipping and tax.  Woo  Hoo!!! That put a smile on my face!!

My Serious Quest at Being the Best Thriftster I can be!

Granted I have been on a Quest for total Thrifty Enlightenment for many years, but I have not been totally truly thifty.  I have cheated on Thrift and ignored Thrift sometimes to the detriment of my family's finances or the unhappiness of my darling husband.  This blog is for me to document my journey into becoming the most thriftiest mom I can be.  I will post what I use or what I plan to use whether it be re-using, making or creating something to my families benefit.  In all of this if this blog gives someone else and idea (not all ideas will be created by me some will be borrowed) or helps someone realize they are not along in their Quest for Thrift then I will be pleased.
